Industry expert joins as Senior Account Director
Tuesday 24th November 2015
Recently we welcomed Sara Elston to our team at Journey as Senior Account Director. Sara was headhunted for the position of Director of Sales and Marketing at Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa two years ago, and after working with Journey to redevelop the hotel’s branding and website, she couldn’t resist the opportunity to become a full time member of our team.
At Lucknam Park Sara worked with a wide variety of agencies and corporate clients, and at Journey, is now using her skills and experience to manage our partner relations with groups such as Relais & Chateau, Conde Nast and Pride of Britain. She will also help define and implement marketing strategies for our hotel clients.
Sara has vast experience with CMS and CRM as well as social media and PR. Her connections and wealth of knowledge and experience make her a valuable asset to the team. We look forward to working closely with her to maintain and develop client relationships and evolve strong partnerships with further high end hoteliers.
If you could stay in any hotel in the world, which would it be and why?
That’s such a tough question – I love hotels! Probably a beach hut in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I’ve always wanted to visit the Burj Al Arab in Dubai and in the UK I have a soft spot for Lewtrenchard Manor.
What is the most enjoyable element of your role? What is your personal area of expertise?
Over the years I have realised one of my biggest strengths is being able to enter a hotel and identify areas of the business to develop and strengthen. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a hotel flourish, knowing I have been a part of its growth.
What is your favourite season to travel?
Spring – I love nature and the signs that summer is on the way. Flowers blooming, birds singing, and of course the warmer weather and lighter days!
The golden question…tell us something about yourself!
I love festivals and am a country girl at heart, I live on the Longleat Estate with my partner and three children. I have 2 dogs, 14 chickens and 3 ducks called Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa Marie. (No I’m not an Elvis fan.)
